The Commission for Women of Bossier City is seeking applications from high school senior girls for its 2025-26 mentoring program, which furthers its mission to empower young women.

Bossier Parish high school seniors are paired with Commissioners to develop their leadership skills, participate in team building and learn about etiquette, government, quality of life and much more. Mentees will also have the opportunity to apply for scholarships at the end of the year.

The deadline for applications to be turned in to high school senior counselors is noon on Friday, August 22.

The third week of Bossier Schools Summer Meal Program pickup is scheduled for Tuesday morning, June 17, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Check out these helpful tips: 👉 If your children are not with you, please have your scan code and parent pickup forms printed out to expedite the process. The forms are needed EACH WEEK. 😎 Parkway and W.T. Lewis are the largest sites and have little to no wait. 🎉More than 225,000 meals have already been distributed in the first two weeks! Spring LEAP 2025 testing at Haughton High School is scheduled for April 22 – May 9, 2025. All students currently enrolled in the following courses will participate in LEAP 2025 exams: Algebra I, Biology, Civics, English I, English II, Geometry, and U.S. History. Refer to the chart for specific dates by course.  It’s important that students are present and arrive on time each day during the testing window. LEAP 2025 assessments are required for graduation, and scores will also serve as final exam grades for these courses.  Students who are scheduled to retest should check their school email for specific retesting details.  Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure student success.
