This week, we’re celebrating our BMS School Counselors, Mrs. Brittany Foster and Mrs. Becky O’Neal, who work each day to support our students academically, socially, and emotionally.
From big conversations to small check-ins, they are always a safe place for our Tigers. We are so grateful for the care, guidance, and heart they bring to Benton Middle School every day.

The internet gives our students incredible opportunities, but it also comes with real responsibilities. This month’s Tiger Talks focuses on helping students stay safe online through smart choices, strong boundaries, and open communication with trusted adults.
From social media and gaming to passwords and privacy, we’re reminding our Tigers that if something doesn’t feel right online, it’s always okay to stop, speak up, and ask for help.💜
Let’s work together to keep our students safe, informed, and confident both online and offline!

Bossier Schools will remain CLOSED for students and teachers Friday, January 30 out of an abundance of caution due to continued safety concerns on our campuses as a result of the wintry weather.
We cannot risk your children’s return to school until the thick ice accumulation melts or can be removed from awnings, walkways, bus ramps and parking lots.
Our district leaders and 12-month employees will be working Friday to get our schools and centers ready for reopening Monday, February 2, and to de-ice and prepare for another round of frigid temperatures being forecast for the weekend. This is a work day at our schools and centers, and they will not be open for normal operations.
We know this week has been unusual and Bossier Schools greatly appreciates your understanding, support and working with us to make the best of the situation.

Out of an abundance of caution, all Bossier schools and district offices will remain CLOSED Thursday, January 29 as the district continues to assess the impact the recent winter storm is having on operations.
Though the ice is melting, considerable hazards remain on roadways, bus ramps, in car lines and on our school campuses, making it unsafe for our students and staff to return. In addition, the National Weather Service is forecasting freezing fog overnight and into Thursday morning, heightening the danger of traveling.
It is our hope to reopen Friday, January 30 after another day of above-freezing temperatures. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding this week and will provide another update at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Last weekend, 7 Benton Middle School students were selected to represent BMS in the Louisiana Music Educators Association All-State Band in New Orleans!
These students made it through a competitive two-step audition process and spent three days playing alongside some of the best middle school musicians in the state!
👏 Congratulations to:
Kylie Adams, Lily Salley, Alaina Hodges, Madison Hollins, Shabella Legarda, Eva Salter, and Arabella Pike.
🎵Special shoutout to Eva Salter, who also had the honor of presenting one of the songs on stage!
